C Scale Soloing Tips

For those of you who have learned the basic C scale and want to explore ways to incorporate that into your solos, or doodles – here is a video that shows a simple pattern to work on.

To explain: starting on a high note and going down to a lower note, play the first 4 notes. Then start on the second highest note, and play another 4 notes down the scale. Repeat until you run out of room. Then try it going up in pitch.

Work in it slowly, listening to each note to make sure they are clear and clean. Eventually, work yourself up to going faster, but remember: faster is not better. Better is better, so only go as fast as you can accurately play it.

Let me know if this makes sense.
